The Secret - Mise en Scene

We are going to be filming during the day. This will mean we will be using natural lighting as the opening scene is done outside and the main scene is filmed in a bed room with big windows allowing for lots of light. This means it will look more natural and not overdone with the addition of false lighting as well as keeping natural, cool colours.

The costumes that are used are also typical everyday modern teenage clothing. This helps create the feeling that they are just your every day people you would pass on the street, normalising these people and their relationships. We want their outfits to be non stereotypical of gay characters which is usually "flamboyant" clothing so by dressing Will in a hoodie and tracksuit bottoms doesn't make it obvious to the audience that he is infact hiding his sexuality.

What is transition of image and sound? A transition of sound is used to maintain the flow between two scenes and this is usually done by removing all background music from the scene and perhaps inserting music and fading it into the two merged scenes.  A transition of image is used when moving between two scenes and is usually faded out. There are many ways to do this depending on the atmosphere during the scenes.  Why is editing so important? Editing is important in filming as it helps the gentle and desecrate transition between shots and scenes become more perfect and less harsh. It can also benefit the actor/actress as if they don't get their lines correct then it can be cut out or shot again and merge in with the previous scene instead of having to shoot it all in one go. The differentiation between scenes can be obvious but gentle like going dead black at the end of one scene and fading from black in the second scene....

The Secret - Equipment

Unfortunately when we went to start gathering equipment for filming we discovered there weren't any working tripods so we had to go and buy our own. The Secret - Titles Inspiration

We decidede that we wanted to create a title scene that would tie in with the teen romance feel. By doing this we researched a few different films and TV series and found a few that were along the lines of what we were thinking for our film. We took inspiration from the 'Please Like Me' We also took inspiration from a Miley Cyrus film called 'LOL'.
